Entry back in to Japan for Foreign Residents

So I recently came across this:

https://japantoday.com/category/national/japan-to-ease-covid-19-entry-curbs-on-foreigners-with-resident-visas-nhk

Apparently this has been updated to where the Japanese government is thinking of easing restrictions for the entry of foreign residents from the beginning of next month.

Key word being "thinking."

This whole CCP virus matter has made going back home for a visit this year out of the question. If I try to enter Australia (even as a citizen), I'm required to go in to quarantine for two weeks at a hotel. On top of that, I have to fork out the cost of the hotel - approximately $2000.
My response to that is fuck off Australia. It also shows that the Federal and State governments are completely out of touch. They think that people working overseas are making six figure salaries annually? I wish I was making that much. To add further insult to injury, even if I went ahead with all that, the current situation in Japan has lead to uncertainty for foreign residents to try and enter the country. It is possible to be granted an exemption to enter the country, on the condition that you leave the airport by means of private transport only, and go in to quarantine for two weeks. The other problem is that while officially, you can be granted an exemption to enter the country, the final decision is left to border control at the airports. So even if you have the paperwork to show that you have been granted an exemption by the Ministry of Home Affairs, you still might not be allowed back in the country.

Even my current employer has sent out emails regarding this, in that if we leave the country for whatever reason (even for emergency), we are expected to resign..

A vaccine for this CCP/corona virus can't come soon enough...
